Getting Out of Our Offices

You might be surprised to learn that more and more, our staff are working outside our offices.  Some services such as our Trauma Center, do virtually all of their work in schools, people’s homes, and workplaces.  The nature of their work is providing support where and when people need it.  Services such as Early Intervention (birth to age 3) are almost entirely mobile – finding it best to support children and families right in the home.  Our Behavioral Treatment Services for people who have developmental and cognitive limitations  work in family homes but also in group homes and apartments to lend clinical and behavioral support.  The same goes for our Community Living Services Division which provides a small number of group homes but also offers in-home support to adults with a mental illness so that these individuals can live in their own apartments.  I could continue by explaining how our growing number of Employment Collaboratives are organizing employment options in the community or by describing all the in-home therapy and coordination services we provide for kids and families. But I think the concept is clear – Riverside is really getting out of the office.
