College students face unique stressors such as isolation, academic pressure, and lack of support systems — making campuses critical environments for suicide prevention. In response to the growing need for mental health support among this vulnerable population, a nationwide sorority partnered with SOS Signs of Suicide (a service of Riverside Community Care) to implement a virtual suicide prevention training program, SOS Signs of Suicide for Higher Ed. The training includes educational content, student interviews, and interactive decision-making scenarios.

This case study explores the impact of SOS’s suicide prevention training on over 6,000 sorority members across 140 campuses during one academic year.
