    As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, Riverside sustains our commitment to supporting the emotional well-being of individuals, families, and communities by sharing educational resources.

  • Expectant Mothers Living in Cambridge, Somerville, and Medford are Invited to our Community Baby Shower!

    Our Early Head Start program is hosting a free community baby shower for pregnant women and parents with infants up to three months old on Wednesday, May 29th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Attendees will receive important resources, learn new parenting skills, and celebrate this transformative time in their lives.

  • Peer Support Transforms Mental Healthcare in Massachusetts

    Though 16-year-old Nathaniel has quit therapy in the past, he never hesitates to spend time with Jake Look, his Young Adult Peer Mentor. Peer Mentors are individuals with lived experience managing mental health or substance use challenges, and they often emphasize building connections over clinical work.

    “These roles are game changers entirely,” said Brooke Doyle, commissioner at the state’s Department of Mental Health.

As a service of Riverside Community Care, we teach students and school staff how to identify signs of depression and suicide. We create safer, healthier workplaces that understand how mental health and substance use intersect productivity. And we bring communities together after traumatic events.

The highly respected Riverside Trauma Center offers support services for schools, workplaces, and communities across Massachusetts. Services include on-site response, grief counseling, and referrals after critical incidents such as a death or suicide, natural disaster, violence, or a stressful event.

The Trauma Center also trains and partners with organizations to develop locally-based response teams and coordinates the Riverside-Massachusetts Trauma Response Network to implement community-based disaster-recovery plans throughout the Commonwealth.
