Human Rights Committee
Make a lasting impact in your community. Join Riverside’s Human Rights Committee and become an advocate for dignity, respect, and equitable treatment for the people we serve. This meaningful volunteer opportunity requires just a few hours per month and ensures that every person Riverside serves has their rights protected and their voice heard.

Riverside’s Human Rights Committee promotes the enjoyment of civil and human rights for EVERYONE we serve.

Responsibilities Include:
- Attending a one-hour virtual meeting every six to eight weeks
- Conducting visits across Riverside programs to assess living conditions
- Assessing Riverside’s human rights policies and practices
- Dedicating approximately five hours per month to the committee
- Providing feedback on various Riverside reports
The Committee Is Open To:
- Individuals receiving DDS or DMH services
- Social workers/clinicians
- Attorneys/legal advocates/law students
- Community members
- Medical professionals
- Family members of persons served
- Other interested parties
*Please note that all Human Rights Committee members are required to have consistent transportation and must be comfortable using Zoom.
