MindWise (formerly Screening for Mental Health) was founded with the mission to screen for depression much like professionals in the medical field screen for physical diseases like cancer and diabetes. This led to cutting-edge programs like Signs of Suicide (SOS) designed to screen for at-risk middle and high school students. This groundbreaking program reached more than 1.5 million youth last year alone. Riverside was selected by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to serve as a Behavioral Health Community Partner for MassHealth (Medicaid) for our expertise in supporting individuals with significant behavioral health needs. As Riverside Community Partners, we are now one of eighteen organizations across the state committed to coordinating care for people with physical health, mental health, and substance use needs. The Riverside Community Council – Cambridge/Somerville is building support for The Guidance Center Fund, benefitting Riverside’s Child & Family Services in Cambridge and Somerville.
