IN MEMORIAM Ellen G. Moot 1930 - 2016 We remember Ellen Moot, a longtime friend ofThe Guidance Center, a service of Riverside Community Care. As a Board member, Ellen was fully engaged and generous. Her active involvement with The Guidance Center spanned an amazing 25 years – from 1978 to 2003 – and she remained loyal to the organization until her death last year. Ellen built the initial foundation of The Guidance Center’s network of supporters by involving her many friends and acquaintances. Back in 1983, she, her friends, and fellow Board members created the Cambridge Pops Concert, featuring a lively evening of music performed by local musicians such as The Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra and the Black Eagle Jazz Band. Ellen’s great event paved the way for today’s Gala, our much-anticipated annual fundraiser at the Charles Hotel. A stalwart of countless community organizations, Ellen truly loved The Guidance Center. Known for her great intelligence as well as her warm heart, she deftly built coalitions to broadly sustain her beloved Cambridge community. We are very grateful Ellen included The Guidance Center in her will. Planned gifts to Riverside and The Guidance Center, such as hers, provide us with long-term support for services and program innovation. Thanks to Ellen, both during her lifetime and beyond, countless children and families will have healthier lives and brighter futures!
