No matter the challenge, our dedicated staff develop a thoughtful plan together with the individual. Depending on the situation, we may be involved for a short time or we may provide ongoing services that allow the person to continue living in his or her own community with varying levels of support. Services for Communities School systems, cities, towns, and private corporations can also access our mental healthcare and human services. Whether we are supporting those affected by homicides, teen suicides, acts of terrorism, or natural disasters, we provide a broad range of prevention, intervention, consultation, training, and treatment services throughout Massachusetts. For example, after the Boston Marathon bombing, we provided“psychological first aid”to many of the residents and shop owners who were affected. In keeping with our goal to fill key gaps in the safety net, we also bring together dozens of social service agencies and local corporations to address the lack of employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This past year we helped more than 750 people with disabilities secure full-time jobs. And for several communities, we provide specialized services for those threatened by domestic violence.
