b'BONNIE Riverside helped us in our journey, and I dont know where Id be without them.Bonnie was worriedher 13-year-old daughter, Sam, was struggling with anxiety, her grades were dropping, and Bonnie noticed signs that Sam was harming herself. Therapists and hospitalizations were not enough. Bonnie turned to Riversides Life Skills program for help. Sam connected right away with a skilled Riverside clinician, who took the time to get to know her and help her learn skills to cope with her feelings and express herself.Reflecting on their journey, Bonnie noted, Sam started to find herself again. For the first time in two years, she was finding joy in everyday life. One of the most important skills Sam learned was to come to Bonnie when she was struggling and needed some extra help. Now doing very well, Sam has graduated from high school and is at college studying nursing. And Bonnie was so moved and impacted by the experiencethat she is back in school earning a degree in social work so she can help other families.Riverside Life Skills programs based in Milford, Needham, and Somerville provide therapeutic programs to address the needs of children and youth with significant mental health issues. With skilled clinicians, our goal is to prevent hospitalization and out-of-home placement so young people can continue their learning and life-skill development. 6'
