A Message from Scott Bock, President/CEO

Riverside began providing services close to forty years ago. Much has changed in healthcare and human services in these four decades. We’ve seen State hospitals and schools close, sharp increases in the cost of health insurance coupled with the rise of the HMOs, and difficult economic times for the Commonwealth that resulted in significant challenges to human service funding.

But, one thing has not changed: Through good times and bad, Riverside has remained committed to providing each person we serve with the very highest standard of care – whether that person is a Medicaid recipient or Blue Cross member.

We believe that our emphasis on excellence is the primary reason we have grown to be one of the State’s largest human service providers. It has earned us national recognition, the respect of our peers, loyalty from our staff, and high ratings from the people we serve. It has helped us become an important part of the fabric of life in nearly 60 Massachusetts cities and towns.

We know that the years ahead will bring many more challenges. But, we also know that working together we will continue to succeed. We will raise the funds necessary to develop new services to meet emerging community needs, purchase permanent homes for our programs, and make our voices heard on Beacon Hill as we advocate for the needs of people with disabilities. It is no accident that the word “community” appears in our name. We are part of a community working together – employees, board members, families, businesses, government officials, donors, and the people who use our services – to help ensure the health of each and every city or town we serve. We welcome you to join our community.
