Our outpatient center in Wakefield offers individual, group and family counseling, treatment planning and consultation, medication management, substance abuse treatment, and linkages with a network of services. Staff are expert at working with a broad range of individual and interpersonal difficulties, as well as more serious psychiatric issues. We accept a full array of public and private health insurance.

Day Treatment
Acute and rehabilitative group treatment services are offered utilizing an outcome-oriented focus to support a stable return to community living. Dual diagnosis group treatment is available within the program. The program's individualized treatment planning and group/milieu treatment may be coordinated with other services such as clubhouses, vocational and outpatient counseling.

Community Based Flexible Support Services
Community Based Flexible Supports (CBFS) provides individuals with access to rehabilitation, clinical treatment, employment, housing, wellness and peer services, with ancillary supports that will be coordinated in partnership with each person using the service. Services are designed to be flexible and to promote resiliency and recovery for all participants.

Peer Support
This unique program is run by and for consumers of mental health services to promote support, hope and a recovery community. The program offers access to recovery resources and activities that help people develop awareness, self-advocacy and connections with others.

Trauma Response Services

The Riverside Trauma Center helps local communities, schools, government agencies, healthcare and human services providers, and workplaces cope with the emotional aftermath of traumatic events such as natural disasters, accidents, suicides, or homicides. Riverside’s trauma-response professionals stand ready to provide “psychological first aid” to individuals and organizations affected after a tragedy. Riverside also helps organizations plan their response to unexpected and traumatic events that may occur in the future.

The Trauma Center’s services include:

  • Immediate assessment, consultation and support
  • Group and individual meetings with those directly involved, including employees, students and community members
  • Referral to community resources

Riverside has provided trauma-related services since 1990, achieving a well-earned national reputation for excellence, and, most importantly, developing a team of highly trained and experienced trauma-response professionals.  In the event of a crisis, first responders and authorized representatives can call Riverside 24-hours a day, seven days a week

Child And Family Services

Our outpatient center in Wakefield provides individual, family, and group therapy. Staff have expertise in working with a broad range of problems that children and their families encounter. In addition to counseling, we offer medication management, as well as home-based and case management services. Services are provided at clinic sites, schools, homes, and area agencies. We accept a full array of public and private insurance.

Substance Abuse Prevention
This substance abuse prevention program for pre-teens and adolescents provides training in conflict-resolution, violence prevention, resisting peer pressure, and other skills which are key to the prevention of substance abuse. Group activities are based in the schools and in the community throughout the year.

Home-Based Treatment Services
A team of specialists offer short-term therapeutic treatment options for youth residing at home, in residential programs, and in hospitals. Staff are mobile and work with a child and/or family for periods ranging from several weeks to up to six months providing screening and assessment, supportive counseling, intensive case management, outreach and education, respite supports and activities, and longer-term service support. Services may be coordinated with outpatient treatment, Riverside's Life Skills Center, emergency services, and other community resources.

Developmental and Cognitive Disability Services

Family and Individual Support Program
Staff offer a wide array of supports to adults and children living with their families both in the home and in the community. These supports include respite, recreational activities, provision of adaptive equipment, skill training, and specialized staff support.

Residential Programs
An extensive array of residential options, ranging from 24-hour staffed to semi-independent living situations are available. Residences are located in a variety of settings from apartment complexes to Victorian houses. These home-like settings provide a framework from which to support individuals with developmental disabilities to learn daily living skills, develop meaningful relationships, gain opportunies for community integration and inclusion, and achieve full community membership.
