Whole Foods Market Dedham and Riverside Trauma Center Team Up for a 5% Day

Riverside Trauma Center has teamed up with Whole Foods Market in Dedham, Massachusetts, to help raise money for Riverside Trauma Center. On Thursday, May 8, 2014, Whole Foods Market Dedham will donate 5% of the day’s total net sales to Riverside Trauma Center, a service of the nonprofit organization Riverside Community Care. The money raised will aid Riverside Trauma Center’s effort to help people in Massachusetts recover from the overwhelming stress caused by traumatic events by providing community outreach, consultation, and counseling. Traumatic events include natural disasters, serious accidents, suicides, homicides, and terrorism.

Riverside Trauma Center’s highly‐trained licensed mental health professionals have expertise in managing acute trauma, sudden or violent death, traumatic grief, and other highly stressful events. Reactions to traumatic events vary widely, but can include extreme fear, shock, helplessness, and physical symptoms. Riverside Trauma Center offers support services and referrals after traumatic events and responds on‐site by helping individuals identify healthy coping strategies.
