Partners for Positive Co-Parenting:
Riverside's Court-Approved Parent Education Program

The Probate and Family Courts of Massachusetts require parents who are divorcing to attend a Parent Education Program to help them understand the effects of divorce on children. Riverside's Outpatient Center in Wakefield is an approved provider of this program and offers its "Partners for Positive Co-Parenting" program approximately once each month.

“Partners for Positive Co-Parenting” is led by family counseling professionals and consists of two, 2 ½ hour, sessions. In order to fulfill court requirements, attendance at both sessions is mandatory. The sessions are designed to provide parents with the skills necessary to best help their children respond to the divorce, to recognize the warning signs of poor adjustment, and to deal effectively with stress. Topics covered include the development of successful co-parenting strategies, child custody and visitation issues, and information about other community resources.

Registration Information:

All sessions are held at Riverside Outpatient Center at Wakefield, located at 338 Main Street in Wakefield. To register for the program, please call 1-781-246-2010. The cost for participants is $65. Please note, divorcing spouses will not be placed in the same class.

Schedule of Classes:

The next Partners for Positive Co-Parenting program session will be held on Monday, November 12 & Monday, November 19, 2007, 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
